Printmaking 101

I’m taking a printmaking class for the heck of it, which is a completely new area for me. First up is linoleum cutting… which is supposed to be pretty simple but I still have a feeling I’m going to butcher it to hell. I’ve already succeeded in making two of my fingers go half-numb from holding the cutters wrong. All in the name of art! I had no idea what to draw so I just went blank and this came out:

I guess the goat is um.. upset.. about.. eating a worm. Or something. Or maybe she ate something magical and it turned her tongue into a worm. I just wanted to do some flowy hair to see how it would work in linocut. Hmmmm!

“Oh god my face!”

Monday, After I finish gouging out her face, I’ll learn how to slap on some ink and poop out some copies. I’m a little scared. :D

Linoleum cutting is scary stuff. I did some in school, and had a few instances where I sliced my hand right open.
